EmergingSeries Journal (ES Journal) is an international open access academic journal published annually. The journal adopts a double-blind peer review policy.
ES Journal aims to monitorize the structures and aspects of the new digital technologies, without overlooking the storytelling dimension, the modes of representations, the symbolic construction, the practices and the new rituals of consuming contemporary digital contents.
Due to these reasons, ES Journal focuses on the new technology scenarios and on the concepts that they convey. In the same way, the Journalisvery interested in the analysis of the development and application of digital media, with special attention for what it concerns: the formats of online audiovisual, virtual reality, augmented reality, visual storytelling, media convergence, transmedia and crossmedia, data visualization, locative media, gamification.
ES Journal is structured toward two sections:
- A monographic section, which is announced through a Call for Essays. The editor deepens a specific topic selecting the essays received by scholars and researchers. The essays are submitted to the double-blind peer review process for the approval.
- A general section, in which essays and articles received by scholars and researchers about the main topic of the Journal are published. Scholars intended to propose an essay for the general section, can send an abstract (300-500 words in English + bibliographical references + 3-5 keywords) and a short biographical note to the the journal’s associate editor Mirko Lino (firstname.lastname@example.org). Each proposal will be then submitted to the Editorial Board and the Scientific Committee for the approval and for the peer review.
The official language for the abstracts and the essays of both the monographic and general section is English
