Jazz lovers should pay attention to this cool 2017 webdoc in 12 episodes: its name is Shotgun Boogie and it consists in a great trip around New Orleans, a name that’s legend for jazz music. The audio technician Michele Boreggi is the inventor of the project and the leader of a video-makers team composed of Colleen Rowley, Hanna Swenson and Sean O’ Gradley, none of them native of N.O. The main concept behind the doc is to show New Orleans mainly through interviews with 25 musicians living in the city in Lousiana. We’ll meet blues, country and jazz musicians: someone was born there, someone moved there many years ago, someone is new to the city: the perspective is variegated, so that the picture we have is three-dimensional and it doesn’t lack all the contradictions of such a crazy place.
