Webfest Berlin is the first web series festival in Europe to invite brands and producers from all around the world to share their branded web series with an on-site-audience. During the festival, taking place in Berlin on September 7 & 8, 2018, a selection of branded web series will be screened to compete for the first Branded Series Webfest Berlin Award which will be handed out on September 8th. The initiative will also include an industry panel about the latest trends and future developments in branded content.
Submissions for the new category are now open at http://www.webfest.berlin/submit – Regular registrations for the cost of 120 Euro can be made until April 29, 2018. The late submission deadline is June 17, 2018. More information about the branded content industry panel and the expert jury will be released this summer.
According to this years’ theme, #WFBlevelup, the new branded series section steps up to the next level in both content financing and brand storytelling by giving the growing number of web series and online video content financed by brands a new platform within the innovative festival. Meredith Burkholder, who founded Webfest Berlin in 2015, today says: “We’re seeing brands around the world producing engaging, thoughtful, and innovative stories using short form series, and it’s time that those trailblazing concepts receive their due recognition. I’m very excited to put a spotlight on this area of the industry and to encourage an exchange and collaboration between filmmakers, broadcasters, platforms, and brands.”
