Valencia (Spain) brings together the best international web series in June

Valencia International Film Festival – Cinema Jove releases a new web series section for its 31st edition. Held from 17 to 24 in the Spanish mediterranean coast, this film festival opens the door for a new digital projects created explicitly for the Internet. Web series from 11 different countries will gather together from the 22 to the 24th of June in the Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM) and will screen 20 international shows while it holds ‘making of meetings’ with the creators and panels regarding funding and distribution of web series. Every web series session starts at 6PM at the IVAM.

Wednesday 22nd of June:

6 – 6:30 PM: HOW TO FUND A WEB SERIES? 

Hosted by José Antonio Madrid, Director of Fidewà Web Fest (L’Alfàs del Pi), four guests will talk about how they funded their web series:

Xusa Moya, producer of ‘Cabanyal Z’

Sofia Tatay (Director of ‘Escabeche Magazine’)

Víctor Costa (Director and Producer of ‘Ma femme est Pasteure’)

Lorena Lluch (Producer of ‘El Partido’)

 

6:30 – 8 PM: SCREENING BLOCK 1

Afterwords, there will be a screening of 10 international web series, with both Spanish and English subtitles:

Beard Club (France)

Mundillo (Argentina)

Numer of Silence (Germany)

Nikola Tesla and the End of the World (United Kingdom)

Ma femme est pasteure (Switzerland)

Arthur (Switzerland)

Una serie de números (Spain)

Sisara (Italy)

Footballer wants a wife (Australia)

Cabanyal Z (Spain)

 

8 – 8:30 PM: HOW WE DID OUR WEB SERIES?

And, to finalize, the creators will have their ‘Making of meetings’ where they will answer questions about how they did their web series, presented by Gabi Ochoa, screenwriter and Director of ‘El amor no es lo que era’. He will talk with filmmakers like Joan Alamar or Victor Costa, who will make known their experience as web series creators.

 

Thursday 23rd of June:

6 – 6:30 PM: HOW TO DISTRIBUTE A WEB SERIES?

Hosted by Yolanda Pérez (Producer of Globomedia, RTVV-Canal 9), the three members of the international jury of web series will talk about web series distribution: Michael Ajakwe (Founder of Los Angeles Web Festival) Antoine Disle (Director of Rockzeline) Adriá Monés (Co-Producer of Filmax)

 

6:30 – 8 PM: SCREENING BLOCK 2

Afterwords, there will be a screening of 10 international web series, with both Spanish and English subtitles:

8 – 8:30 PM: HOW WE DID OUR WEB SERIES?

To finalize, the creators will have their ‘Making of meetings’ where they will answer questions about hoy they did their web series, presented by Begoña Soler, director of ‘La buena fe’, with creators and directors of the screened projects such as Raquel Cambralla, Andrea Invierno or Álex Rodrigo.

 

Friday 24th of June:

6:30 – 7:30 PM: SCREENING WEB SERIES ‘MADE IN VALENCIA’+ At 6PM

will start a special screening of Valencian web series out of competition.

7:30 – 8 PM: HOW WE DID OUR WEB SERIES?

After the screening, the creators will hold a making of meeting with audience and other creators, hosted by Pau Martínez, writer and director of ‘Bala Perdida’ or ‘El Kaserón’. The four Valencian creators, Alberto Adsuara, Luis E. Pérez, Gonzalo Gurrea and Sergio Tellols will talk with the audience and share with them their experience creating and producing their web series.

 

10 PM: AWARDS GALA

And that night, the Award Gala will take place al the Principal Theatre of Valencia. The awards that will be given to the web series are:

Luna de Valencia to the Best Web Series

Luna de Valencia to the Best Direction of Web Series

Special Prize from the Jury of Marseille Web Fest

Precial Prize from the Jury of Los Angeles Web Festival.
